DIY Govee Aura Smart Lamp - No 3d printing - Nanoleaf

I hope you enjoy my attempt to make a DIY version of the Govee Aura Smart Lamp. Since I didn't spend any time in the video going over what I thought of the Govee Aura lamp, here are my impressions:

Govee Aura Smart Lamp Review: A couple things that stood out about this lamp was how bright the Warm and White light gets. It blew mine out of the water in this area. My guess is they have separate LED’s in the lamp for just for the White color. Another thing my lamp could not match was some of the unique pre-set color animations that the Aura had. One of my favorites was a snow fall scene as well as a fish tank one that were really impressive. I’m sure with programming I could get close to duplicating some of the animations, but for now that’s beyond my know how. The other thing I did not even try to replicate was the reactive lighting to music that the Govee has built in. While this can be accomplished on a DIY lamp like mine, for now, this too is beyond my knowledge.

DIY VS Govee: The one I made did get just as bright if not a little brighter when it came to displaying static colors as well as color animations. With the WLED software, you have so many different options to customize things to find color combinations and animations that stand out. Once you find one you like, you can simply save it as a favorite for quick access later. I did like this way of customizing a little more than what is offered on the Govee Aura app.

Overall if you don’t have the tools or any LED’s laying around that you can use, building one yourself like I did will be more expensive than just buying the Govee version. However, it was a fun project and as always, I learned a few new things along the way and you cant really put a price on that lol.
