The Brave Spy Who Fought to Her Last Breath – Violet Szabo 🎖️

Violet Szabo was only 23 years old when she parachuted into Nazi-occupied France as a British secret agent during World War II.

Born to a British father and a French mother, Violet joined the Special Operations Executive (SOE) after her husband, a French Foreign Legion officer, was killed in action. She left behind her two-year-old daughter to fight the Nazis from within.

In 1944, during her second mission, Violet was ambushed by German forces. She held off an entire patrol single-handedly with a Sten gun, allowing her comrades to escape. Captured and brutally tortured, she refused to give any information — not a single name.

She was eventually deported to Ravensbrück concentration camp, where she was executed in early 1945.
Posthumously, she received the George Cross, Britain’s highest civilian award for heroism.

Violet's story is one of youth, courage, and fierce loyalty — a reminder that heroes are not always soldiers with weapons, but also women with unbreakable will.
