Voc and Imp Testing on PV Solar Arrays

What’s the safest way to perform Open Circuit Voltage (Voc) and Closed Circuit Current (Imp) testing on a PV solar array?

One of our installers suggested opening the DC circuit, removing the connector from the inverter, and performing the tests this way instead of handling live conductors by themselves.
