Review: Driving The Tuthill Porsche 356 From Omaze & Valkyrie Racing
Omaze's sweepstakes for this 1958 Porsche 356A offers anyone a chance to win a lightly modified air-cooled Porsche without having to spend serious air-cooled money. The build comes courtesy of Tuthill Porsche in the UK, with inspiration from Valkyrie Racing including a 912 flat-four hanging off the tail and all the right touches from painted bumpers to polished wheels and a Barolo red interior.
Valkyrie's own Renee Brinkerhoff recently shipped her own 356 to Antarctica with tracks and skis installed, where she set a world speed record while checking the seventh and final continent off her to-do list, all in the name of raising money and awareness for the Valkyrie Gives charity. Now, proceeds from the Omaze giveaway that ends March 4 will support that mission, while providing lucky Porsche fans an opportunity to own a car inspired by Renee's own racer.
HotCars contributor Michael Van Runkle spent a dream morning in Malibu with the Omaze car to learn just how much of a difference the Porsche badge meant way back in 1958... With a little help touch of modern from Tuthill, that is.
