What happens when you remove your instax film cartridge?

In this video we show you what happens when you completely remove an instax film cartridge while there is still film in it.

In a previous video we showed you what would happen if you just opened the film back door, but in this video we take it further and fully remove the cartridge.

We did this test with a Fuji Instax Mini 70, but the results should all apply to all Fuji Instax Cameras (Mini, Wide, Square).

From the quick test shown in the video you'll probably end up losing at least one sheet of film (which will be totally over exposed). The second sheet of film might have some light leaks - but from the third sheet of film on it looks like everything is ok.

About the film counter: When you put in a film cartridge the camera automatically resets the film counter (even if the film cartridge you put in doesn't have the full amount of film). There's nothing to worry about. You just need to keep track of how much film is left, or if you try to take a shot and nothing comes out then you're out of film. You cannot manually update the film counter, it will reset again the next time you put in a fresh cartridge of film.

Note: in the video the film left in our camera was black and white instax film - but the results should be similar for the color instax film.
