Dark season 3 will be released on June 27, 2020, and there are many questions after Netflix released the Trilogy/Franchise 3rd trailer. This video breaks down all scenes and explains the questions we want answered in the final season. In the new season 3 promo trailer we see Jonas Kahnwald (Louis Hofmann) travel to alt Martha Nielson’s (Lisa Vicari) world. Her world looks a lot like the Winden we know from the first two seasons, but things are also different. We see that Martha’s journey is very similar to Jonas’s, and that there are alternate versions of many of the Dark characters we know.

In Dark everything is connected in season 3 we will learn how Jonas’s and Martha’s world influence each other. We see her travel back in time to the beginning of Sic Mundus. She encounters the Stranger in 1888 as he is working on building the god particle twin time machine. We meet her friends from school in the 2019 timeline, and how she reacts to Jonas’s arrival. This new trailer hints that the two will fall in love again.

In the original world we see Hannah in the 1950s timeline where she decided to stay. We see her forming a relationship with a young Egon Tiedemann, and see the origin of the St. Christopher pendant. We also see Katharina Nielsen in the 1980s timeline where it looks like she’ll be reunited with her husband Ulrich Nielsen.

The third season of Dark looks like it will be even more complicated than its previous installments. With two worlds, more characters, and time periods that stretch farther than the ones we’ve already seen. The Trilogy trailer also recaps the story and shows how we arrived where we are at the beginning of the third season. We get glimpses of the 2050s timeline where Adam seems to be. We also see adult Elisabeth with her mother/daughter Charlotte.

We see Winden prime after the apocalypse, and go back in time to 1888 for the formation of Sic Mundus. While there is a lot of new footage it’s still hard to speculate on how the Dark series will come to an end. Will Adam succeed in his plan to destroy the knot, and is a plan that Eve is a part of? Who are the new trio of characters with the scar on their lip, and whose side are they on?

This Dark “season 3 trailer” video looks at the best ideas of what will happen in the third season. It explains what each of these scenes show us, and how the characters are connected.

Dark season 3 will be the final season of the Netflix series. We expect the showrunners to explain the answers to questions that we have had after the first two seasons. Time travel, the founding of Sic Mundus Creatus Est, Adam’s plan to destroy time, Claudia’s plan, and what will happen to Winden after the apocalypse.

In the third and final season, DARK reaches its mind-bending conclusion, moving beyond the concept of space and time. Upon arrival in a new world, Jonas tries to make sense of what this rendition of Winden means for his own fate, while the ones left behind in the other world are left on a quest to break the loop that now not only bends time but also space. Two worlds. Light and dark. And in the center a tragic love story of epic proportions.
