Layout Update - April 2022: Jordan Spreaders Complete, Rookie Mistake, Painting Flextrack...

Hey everybody here's what's new on my layout over the past month:

- Jordan Spreader 3D printed resin kits completed. Cab windows painted and installed and decals from Highball Graphics.

- Discovered a mistake when going to take the Spreaders on their inaugural run. My 40 Mile Creek bridge is too narrow. I built it to prototype measurements and not the NMRA wider clearance recommendation. Whoops!

- Moving past Banff, I glued all the remaining scenic ties in place in the flextrack gaps. Then airbrushed the flextrack rails and ties my "Rail Grime" colour. Basically four parts grey to one part brown. I got about 48' of mainline painted all the way to Lake Louise. The difference is striking, air brushing flex track is one of the easiest ways to make track work look more real.

- First section of the new photo backdrop reprinted and glued in place. Looking really good now with minor corrections to the placement of the Fairview Road and Transcanada Highway elements. Big Bertha is awaiting replacement bushings for the carriage slide which I hope will solve the noise its making when printing. Next section is ready to print, just waiting on a healthy printer.

- Fairview Road grade crossing boards and cross bucks weathered and ready to go on the layout. Was able to use the Osborn model kits laser cut grade crossings that I saved from my old layout so it's cool that piece of my old layout will live on in this new one.

- Tree update; total layout tree count at 685.
