A lot of people are being pitched “charitable trusts,” “nonprofit trusts,” “pure trusts,” or other trust structures that supposedly eliminate income taxes, capital gains taxes, or business taxes while still letting the owner control the money.

That is the red flag.

In this video, we break down why asset protection and tax avoidance are often being mixed together by promoters, and why many of these structures fall apart when reviewed by a real CPA, tax attorney, or the IRS. The IRS has specifically warned about abusive trust tax evasion schemes, including arrangements where people claim they transferred assets but still control the income or benefits.

We also discuss why being on the wrong promoter’s client list can create audit risk, why your CPA needs to review the structure before you set it up, and why “I still control everything but pay no taxes” is usually not a real strategy.
