Erwin Wurm, UFO, 2006 #art #artwork #artshorts

In 1996, Austrian artist Erwin Wurm began redefining the very essence of sculpture. Known for his "Fat" and "Warped" series, Wurm takes ordinary objects and strips them of their rigid logic.
This car isn't just a static statue – it’s fully drivable. To achieve this "comic book" look, engineers had to completely re-engineer the chassis and steering column to function at impossible angles.
Why did he do it? A car is a universal symbol of precision and status. By making it look "clumsy" and fluid, Wurm mocks our obsession with perfect forms and expensive status symbols. For him, objects are like living beings – they can expand, distort, and shift their proportions.

Beyond this car, Wurm is famous for his "fat" houses and melting trucks, proving that in his world, reality is much more flexible than we think.
