Government’s ‘obsession’ with net zero putting ‘enormous pressure’ on households
Sky News host Rita Panahi says the Albanese government’s “obsession” with achieving net zero emissions is putting “enormous pressure” on households.
Ms Panahi sympathised with mortgage holders who have seen their repayments almost double.
“I think we are starting to see that mortgage stress now - people have perhaps absorbed that, dipped into their savings, but at some point, the pain is really going to hit,” she told Sky News host Paul Murray.
The Sky News host hit out at the government for having no plans to improve the situation for homeowners.
“If anything, we are going to see energy costs continue to rise as they go down this net zero obsession,” she said.
