Huawei ban in UK is 'disheartening', claims Chinese ambassador to UK

Liu Xiaoming, the ambassador to the UK, has said the decision to ban Huawei is "disheartening".

It is a good company which has been in the UK for 20 years and has created 28,000 jobs, as well as paying tax and "contributing greatly to the telecoms industry of this country".

He claims it has been "purged".

"Mutual trust was undermined," he adds. "It would be difficult for businesses to have confidence to invest more."
