La Llorona (2021 Creative Fusion - Anastasia Sonaranda)

This arrangement by Anastasia Sonaranda and Rodrigo Lara Alonso of "La Llorona" was written as a “son istmeño” work. It is by far the most ambitious project in scale of the Creative Fusion video series, with over one hundred participants from Cleveland and Mexico (ranging in age from six through adult). Irma Pineda Santiago (Mexico) is a representative of indigenous culture to the United Nations. For this collaboration, she has written the poem "Gunaa runna’" (in the Zapoteco language) on the figure of La Llorona. Verses are sung by guest artist Martha Toledo Mar.

Este arreglo de Anastasia Sonaranda y Rodrigo Lara Alonso de "La Llorona" es un ejemplo de "son istmeño". Es, con mucho, el proyecto más ambicioso y complejo de la serie Creative Fusion, con más de cien participantes de Cleveland y México (niños, jóvenes y adultos). Irma Pineda Santiago (México) es representante de la cultura indígena ante las Naciones Unidas. Para esta colaboración, Irma ha escrito el poema "Gunaa ruuna’" (en lengua zapoteca) sobre la figura de La Llorona. Los versos son cantados por Martha Toledo Mar.
