Tenor Ukulele in dGBE tuning

I have never quite liked the tenor ukulele in the GCEA tuning. The string tension gets too high, and there is also something about the general sound of it that I can’t seem to relate to. However; when I put other strings on it and tune it re-entrant dGBE, I find that it becomes a whole other animal...a deeper sounding, sweet, and truly mellow ukulele that I find almost irresistible. Here’s a little improvised sound sample...the ukulele is a cheap Chinese made Kmise tenor, and the strings are also cheapos...baritone strings named ‘Alice’, with an Aquila E string as the 4th string, tuned to the high D. It becomes some kind of mini baritone!
