The Single Story about people from Mexico | Citlali Orellana | TEDxMountainViewHighSchool

In her talk, Citlali will share personal experiences with stereotyping, analyze why we stereotype Mexicans, and its relevance in society. Citlali Orellana is a sophomore at MVHS. She was born and raised in Mexico City, and moved to Mountain View with her mother a year ago. She is a member of sunrise club and K-pop club on campus. Outside of school she takes karate lessons, and her goal is to reach the black belt level. She has tried several sports such as diving, rhythmic gymnastics, aerobic gymnastics, cheerleading, swimming and ice skating. In her free time she likes to listen to music, especially K-pop, read, watch Netflix on her couch with a warm blanket and talk with her friends from Mexico. In her talk, she will share personal experiences with stereotyping, analyze why we stereotype Mexicans, and its relevance in society.
