ఇక 2 గంటల్లోనే ముంబై టు అహ్మదాబాద్ మొదటి బుల్లెట్ రైలు ఫొటో వచ్చేసింది! #bullettrain #highspeedrail

India is moving towards a new era in transportation as the Railway Ministry has officially unveiled the first real image of the country’s upcoming high-speed bullet train. The large display photo has been placed near Gate No. 4 of Rail Bhavan in Delhi for the public to view. The bullet train project, being developed between Mumbai and Ahmedabad with technical support from Japan, is being constructed with a massive budget of nearly ₹1.08 lakh crore. The newly revealed image gives people their first clear look at the ultra-modern “E8 Series Shinkansen” train that is being specially introduced from Japan for this ambitious project. The train features an advanced aerodynamic nose design inspired by the beak of a fast-flying bird. This design helps reduce air resistance while running at a top speed of 320 kmph and also minimizes the loud “tunnel boom” sound that usually occurs when high-speed trains pass through tunnels. The train’s appearance is also drawing attention, with a stylish combination of white on the lower body, saffron on the upper section, and black around the window area, giving it a futuristic look. Once operational, the bullet train is expected to reduce the current Mumbai–Ahmedabad travel time from around 7 hours to just 2 hours. The entire route will include 12 stations. The government plans to complete the first phase of trial runs between Surat and Bilimora in Gujarat by August 2026, while the full project is targeted to be operational by August 15, 2027. Meanwhile, another major engineering milestone is taking shape near Vikhroli in Mumbai, where India’s first undersea rail tunnel is being constructed beneath Thane Creek. Out of the total 21-kilometre tunnel length, nearly 7 kilometres will pass under the sea. For this challenging work, a gigantic 350-ton tunnel boring machine named “Amrit” has been deployed. Interestingly, the Railway Ministry released the bullet train image just a day after this massive machine was launched for tunnel excavation. The entire 508-kilometre Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor is being developed under the supervision of the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited, and major bridge and pillar construction works are already nearing completion.
