I don't believe people who take up DJing intentionally set out to take short cuts, or develop bad habits. Put simply, sucking at DJing is a byproduct of not knowing any better or poor instruction. The slope gets slippery when those ill adviced habits become ingrained into your day to day approach towards DJing, thus becoming difficult and extremely time consuming to correct. All of that said, mistakes teach us best. That goes for Djing, and life in general. But in order for you to benefit from your mistakes, it's important to know when you're making them in the first place. With regards to DJing, failure to secure time is the most common mistake. To help those of you who struggle with staying "in the pocket", I have compiled this video tutorial to help you conquer the highest of cardinal DJ sins.
