Il nuovo volto di Milano # 4 - The new face of Milan # 4 – Portello

Portello è il nome di un quartiere milanese. Qui l’area industriale dismessa dalla Alfa Romeo è stata trasformata in diverse zone dal volto nuovo. Il PARCO DEL PORTELLO, progettato da Charles Jencks con l’intento di rappresentare lo scorrere dl tempo, della storia e della vita, è un gioiello da visitare anche se ci sono poche zone d'ombra per un buon riparo dalla calura estiva. Due collinette caratterizzano questo parco. Una è la montagnetta conica, percorsa da un doppio tracciato a spirale, una per salire e l’altra per scendere, molto gradite ai praticanti di jogging. Sulla sommità possiamo ammirare la scultura che rappresenta la doppia elica del DNA, il profilo della città e le Prealpi. L’altra collinetta, a forma di doppia S, ospita nella sua concavità un bel laghetto e con la luce radente del tramonto fa dimenticare di trovarsi in città.
Più in là si apre il GIARDINO DEL TEMPO, un piccolo angolo di pace con al centro una strada per un viaggio nel tempo scandito da varie insegne e raccontato dai colori diversi dei fiori nelle varie stagioni. Due dei sei ingressi, che collegano il parco alle zone adiacenti, sono passerelle ciclopedonali, entrambe dotate di ascensore. Quella occidentale su Via De Gasperi, ribattezzata per le sue costole “schiena di dinosauro”, esibisce una struttura dai muscoli poderosi che ricordano quelli di un bronzo di Riace e prosegue con la ciclopedonale fino al Monte Stella, mentre quella orientale sul Viale Serra, bellissima, leggera, elegante, come Nike di Samotracia, ispira un senso di libertà e invita a spiccare un volo oltre il Viale Serra.
Su un lato della grandissima PIAZZA GINO VALLE c’è l’imponente bassorilievo di Emilio Isgrò, la “GRANDE CANCELLATURA PER GIOVANNI TESTORI” mentre sul lato meridionale c’è CASA MILAN con statue di giocatori sul tetto e, all’interno, un museo che presenta la storia e i trofei della squadra rossonera. Qui, nella piazza più grande di quella del Duomo, è facile trovarsi soli, senza un'anima viva in giro e provare la sensazione di essere in un mondo dove l’inizio del tempo “Ti con zero” si è inceppato. C’è qualcosa che non va in questa piazza e il senso di disagio induce a tornare dall’altra parte nella vivace zona pedonale di PIAZZA PORTELLO. Questa piazza è piccola, aperta, protetta dal sole e dalla pioggia, animata da un via vai di persone che passeggiano, vanno all’iper, guardano le vetrine e fanno lo struscio col gelato in mano.

Portello is the name of a Milanese district. Here the industrial area abandoned by Alfa Romeo has been transformed into different areas with a new face.The PARCO DEL PORTELLO, designed by Charles Jencks with the intention of representing the flow of time, history and life, is a jewel to visit even if there are few shady areas for a good shelter from the summer heat. Two small hills characterize this park. One is the conical little mountain, crossed by a double spiral path, one to ascend and the other to descend, much appreciated by jogging practitioners. On the top we can admire the sculpture that represents the double helix of DNA,, the profile of the city and the Prealps. The other hill, in the shape of double "S", houses a beautiful pond in its concavity and with the grazing light of the sunset makes you forget you're in the city.
Farther on, GIARDINO DEL TEMPO opens, a small corner of peace with a street in the middle for a journey through time marked by various signs and told in different colors of flowers in the various seasons. Two of the six entrances, which connect the park to the adjacent areas, are bike-pedestrian footbridges, both with a lift. The western one, on Via De Gasperi, renamed for its "dinosaur back" ribs, exhibits a powerful muscle structure reminiscent of a Riace bronze and continues with the bike-pedestrian path to Monte Stella, while the eastern one, on Viale Serra, beautiful, light, elegant, like Nike of Samothrace, inspires a sense of freedom and invites you to take a flight over the Viale Serra.
On one side of the huge PIAZZA GINO VALLE is the imposing bas-relief by Emilio Isgrò, the "GREAT CANCELLATION FOR GIOVANNI TESTORI" while on the south side there is CASA MILAN with statues of players on the roof and, inside, a museum that presents the history and trophies of the Rossoneri team. Here, in the largest square than that of the Duomo, it is easy to be alone and to feel the sensation of being in a world where the beginning of the time "Ti with zero" has jammed. There is something wrong with this square and the sense of unease leads us to return to the other side in the lively pedestrian area of PIAZZA PORTELLO. This square is small, open, protected from the sun and rain, enlivened by a bustle of people walking, going hyper, looking at the shop windows and strolling with ice cream in hand.
