Kanheri Caves - A Paradise Surrounded by a Mega City - Mumbai, India

The Kanheri Caves are a group of caves and rock-cut monuments cut into a massive basalt outcrop in the forests of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, on the western outskirts of Mumbai, India.

These are buddhist caves and carvings dating back more than 2000 years.

I went there on a cool, rainy morning during the monsoon season. This is what I saw.
