Story line:
" On this cold winter evening I was near my hut, chopping wood. The air was so clean and fresh that it was a little intoxicating. It was necessary to stock up well on chopped firewood, since the radio was broadcasting that next week there would be a strong snow storm and frost down to -40 degrees Celsius. In the evening a snowstorm began, the wind speed and snowfall became stronger every minute. It was about 4 pm, but it was already getting dark. I decided to finish the job, then I carried the chopped wood into the hut, and carefully locked the door from the inside so that the cold did not penetrate into the house. It was so warm in the hut that I had to strip down to my T-shirt. The fireplace warmed the hut well, and its log walls perfectly retained heat for a very long time. According to my calculations, the firewood I chopped today should be enough for me to heat my hut for 2 weeks. There were also plenty of supplies of food, water, kerosene, matches, batteries for the radio, food for my beloved dog Buddy, and other small things. Therefore, I was calm and in complete comfort and safety. The storm that was approaching our region did not scare me at all, since my hut was very strong and safe, and could withstand anything. For dinner, I made myself soup from trout, which I caught yesterday in a nearby mountain river. After dinner I made myself some delicious herbal mint tea. Then I sat down in a chair by the fireplace, drank tea, ate apple pie, and admired the view of the mountains and snowfall from the small wooden window. Buddy was sleeping near the fireplace at this time. His sleep was sweet, since he spent almost the whole day with me in the fresh air. Sometimes he snored and made other sounds, apparently he was dreaming about something. The snowstorm became noticeably stronger, I turned on the radio and caught the only radio wave on which old jazz music was playing. The sounds of the blizzard and the sound of the howling wind, combined with the pleasant crackling sounds of the fireplace, lulled me to sleep. I turned off the fire in the fireplace, turned off the radio, then changed into my pajamas and lay down under the duvet. The blanket felt a little cool at first, but after a couple of minutes it became much warmer. The room was dark, only the red smoldering coals of the firewood emitted warmth and a pleasant glow. After 5 minutes I fell asleep sweetly to the pleasant sounds of a winter snowstorm. "
