I knew I had mold in the insulation of the cabin. I could see little bits of the darkness in the gaps of the insulation. I had used faced insulation and then also installed plastic vapor barrier. In the past was not not recommended to use both however the views on this have change dover the years. Now some people say that it is just fine to use both. I had seen it done that way before and thought it would be helpful in keeping drafts to a minimum and adding another layer of air space. Well it became obvious this trip that it was the added plastic that contributed to the mold. Since the cabin tiny home is a shed conversion made by the Amish, and they saw their own lumber, the wood used in the rafters and stud walls was not completely dry. as the wood released its moisture, the plastic trapped it in the insulation.

So out with the old and in with the new. I was able to get all of the bad insulation out of the ceiling and used bleach in any trouble areas. The walls will have to wait for now.
