Inside the Gates: The mystery of Wake Island

Why does Alaska care about a tiny Island over 3,500 miles away?
"Wake is kind of in the center of the Pacific Ocean and so it is a convenient trans point between Asia and North America," Dillon Brown said.
The Island was the first target of the Japanese attack on the United Sates during WWI. Today the island is used by the U.S. Air Force as a refueling station. To keep the runways clear in the middle of no where, the base is constantly dealing with another visitor, birds.
