One Of The Last Norfolk Southern Trains Before Branch Line Goes Out Of Service!

Norfolk Southern T51 eastbound to Peebles on one of its last runs before the line becomes inactive past mp32 April 25, 2014. The first shot is Mt. Orab. Then we see them cross a dirt road just east of Sardinia. After that, we see them cross Rt62 in Macon Ohio, followed by T51 coming into Winchester. After the 10 covered hoppers are set off at the grain elevator spur, we see them come off the spur onto the main. After coupling up, the train continues east through Winchester. Gary is the conductor.
There was a tamper sitting on the siding in Seaman and then we see the train shut down for the night on the main at Mt Zion. Tomorrow morning T51 will continue east to Peebles. After setting off the 6 cars in Peebles, they will return west to Sharon Yard. This is one of the last trains ever on this part of the line since the line is scheduled to close past mp32 on April 17, 2014.

Update: The line closed April 25, 2014 in Williamsburg Ohio just before MP33. The track was cut and Cincinnati East Terminal Railroad now operates it as of April 27, 2020 to the only remaining customer: Huhtamaki at MP31. See my update videos. NEW UPDATE: In March of 2015, the line reopened to Seaman Ohio at MP62.2. This allows them to service the grain elevator in Winchester Ohio at MP57.7 and still have track past that to run around the cars if needed and to store railroad cars. Cincinnati East Terminal Railway CCET is the new operator of the line. CCET is owned by Frontier Rail.
