Our Caravanning Holiday in Augusta, in the Southwest Corner of Western Australia
Augusta is located approx. 320kms south of Perth, near Cape Leeuwin, on the Blackwood River.
There is a choice of caravan parks, self contained units and holiday rentals but chose to stay at Turner Holiday Park, on the banks of the Blackwood River.
During our 3 night stay, we visited Hamelin Bay and saw the stingrays, drove through the Boranup Forest, checked out Flinders Bay and the site of the old railway station, saw the new boat harbour and visited the Cape Leeuwin lighthouse and climbed the 176 steps to the top....what a magnificent view from 39 metres up.
We enjoyed a coffee at several of the local cafes in town, as well as some tasty treats from the bakery.
The Cape is the most south western part of Western Australia and is the site where the Southern Ocean meets the Indian Ocean.
There is plenty to see and do in and around Augusta and we really only scratched the surface, so I reckon we'll be heading back down there in the future.
This trip wasn't sponsored by anyone, we paid our own way.
