Welcome to the Apple Watch User Guide & Tutorial. This is part 2 of 4. Where we talk about how to customize the Apple Watch face, choose your desired complications & personalize the color scheme of your Watch face.

There’s 2 ways to Customize your Apple Watch Face, you can do this on your iPhone using the Apple Watch app or directly on the Apple Watch itself. To do this on the Apple Watch, just Force Touch your Apple Watch face & this will bring you into a mode where you can adjust the details of your current Watch face, and also switch to other Watch faces you have used previously or choose a new one. To choose a new Watch face scroll right & tap the big plus button. This will bring up a list of the various Watch faces. To scroll through them you can use the digital crown or swipe up or down with your finger on the screen. The second way to add new Watch faces is by using the Watch iPhone App. Run the Watch App & choose the face gallery tab. This will let you look through all of the available Watch faces on your iPhone. Once you find one you’d like to try, tap it to bring up the options to customize that Watch face. For the Modular face I chose you can choose the color & assign the various complications that are available for the complication spaces on the Watch face. The middle complication is a large utilitarian complication which can provide you with some limited in app data on your Watch face like the weather, stock markets or workout data. My favourite for this complication space is the Now Playing App that shows you the details about what music is currently playing on your iPhone or Apple Watch. You can just tap the compilation to run the Now Playing App to control the music playback from your iPhone, which is handy if you’re using wireless headphones like AirPods! I talk about this feature more in depth in my video “AirPods with WatchOS 4!”, I’ll leave a link at the top of the description. I’ve also found this complication works when Watching video though VLC on your iPhone. The other complication spaces on this Watch face are icons that are shortcuts to the associated apps. Once you setup the Watch face you can then press the “add” button to add the Watch face to your Apple Watch. Now you can Force Touch your Apple Watch face & scroll through the various Watch faces you added from your iPhone. If you’d like to customize the Watch face from your Apple Watch just Force press the Watch face & press the customize button. You can use the digital crown to scroll through the options for each of the selected Watch face sections, & scroll left & right with your finger on the screen to change the section of the Watch face to customize. When you’ve made the desired changes just Force press the screen & tap the desired Watch face to go back to normal!

Another Watch face option is creating a new face from pictures on your iPhone. You can start this process by using the share sheet when viewing a picture on your iPhone. In this example I’m in the photos app & found a picture I’d like to use. Now you press the share button & choose the “create Watch face” option. You’ll get 2 Watch face options, the photos Watch face or kaleidoscope Watch face. Once you make your selection the create Watch face screen will pop up to let you customize the Watch face, when you’re happy with it just press the “add” button. That should be the new face on your Watch. If you want to delete one, you can simply swipe up in the Watch face switcher & press remove to delete that Watch face. You can also delete Watch faces from the Watch app on your iPhone in the my Watch tab under the my faces section just tap edit & press the red circle beside the Watch face to delete & then confirm by pressing remove. Press done when finished.

Check out Part 3 where we go over Apple Watch control centre & the Apple Watch settings to help you personalize your Watch to make it better fit your needs. I would also recommend checking out the other 3 parts as well if you haven’t all ready. Links available up top!
