How we Waterproofed a new R.C Underground Water Tank

In this video, we show how we waterproofed a newly constructed RC underground water tank in Lavington, Nairobi County, Kenya.

For this particular project, the consultants agreed on our proposal to use Penetron Admix crystalline waterproofing admixture

PENETRON ADMIX is a non-toxic crystalline admixture in powder form that is added to new concrete during batching. Once inside the concrete, it reduces concrete permeability by permanently self-healing microcracks, pores and capillaries and effectively protecting the concrete against water penetration and the effects of deterioration, even under high hydrostatic pressure. PENETRON ADMIX provides projects with waterproof and durable concrete that has the ability to self-heal and seal cracks that develop during the lifetime of the concrete.

Penetron Admix ADVANTAGES:

-Resists extreme hydrostatic pressure from either
-positive or negative surface of the concrete slab
-Becomes an integral part of the concrete
-Highly resistant to aggressive chemicals
-Can seal hairline cracks up to 1/51” (0.5 mm)
-Allows concrete to breathe
-Non-toxic (NSF 61 certified for potable water applications)
-Less expensive than traditional methods
-Permanent
-Added to the concrete at the time of batching and
therefore not subject to climatic restraints
-Reduces construction scheduling time
-Improves durability of concrete
-Permeability Reducing Admixture for Hydrostatic
conditions (PRAH)

The waterproofing project of this renovation project took approximately 2 days from start to completion.
