Dennis makes his way to Dawsonville, GA for the Mountain Moonshine Festival, pulling in a lot of the old moonshining cars, mostly '39 and '40 Fords (big trunk, fast car) down at the Town Square, but they're also holding the Galaxie Nationals, pulling in tons more cars among the many joining in anyway. So we get to check out quite a variety, like a '39 Ford of course, a SERIOUS IHRA "Rat Rod", an ALL original '61 Ford Sunliner, and a '53 Chevy, as Ford heavy as this show is.

Starting off in the best way we know how at a Moonshine Festival, we had to do this '39 Ford, an original Moonshiner's Car. Souped up more than the outside gives away, it was built in '57 by Junior Johnson to move some shine! Complete with wooden jacket tanks to keep the rattle of the cans down, this subtle looking beast proudly gives testament of where Nascar stock car racing came from. In it's time, you couldn't touch it. Neither could the law!
As unique as Rat Rods can be, I don't think you'll see another like this one. Sporting an 820 cubic IHRA Pro Stock engine with horsepower in the THOUSANDS, it can pull things out of the ground. It's as about as high tech as it gets for something made to look like there's parts left over. With a '28 Ford Sedan being both sandwiched and dwarfed by the engine and rear wheels, it's truly something needing balls just to get in. Absolutely insane.
The '61 Ford Sunliner (convertible Galaxie essentially) is an original car and rare for that fact alone. This one is super clean and cared for. Matching two tone in and out with the original top up, classy dash, original paint, fins, skirts....this baby has kept it's value to say the least. Does it count as a "survivor" if it's pampered?
The '53 Chevy is a show stopper. Original "Sun Gold" in color, it pops against the "Indian Ivory", white walls and chrome. I't pure, it's pristine, you put your gloves on and take your shoes off to enter. Resto modded a bit, she's still pretty stock, and all done to perfection.

It doesn't get much prettier than the North Georgia mountains in October. Add in a few hundred classics and you got a show you don't want to miss!
