Timpani Rebuild: Bending Bronze Kick Plates - Ep. 15

The bronze kick plates (or "levers") needed some major adjustment to work correctly. We learn that heat does not, in fact, help with bending bronze. Watch to see how the bend was accomplished and the levers finished for the American Drum Manufacturing Company ("Light") Timpani Rebuild.

We bought a set of early American Drum Company (Walter Light) timpani and have plans to document the process of overhauling them! This will include everything from caster replacement, hoop replacement or modification, all the way up to paint and head installation.
