Freighter travel: a cargo trip from Cape Town to Rotterdam

After cycling 26600 KM through the whole continent of Africa, from Zürich to Cape Town, I didn't want to simply fly back. The journey took almost two years, so I needed an equivalent "slow traveling" way home. That's why I took a cargo ship, a multipurpose vessel with bulk and containers, to sail during 20 days back from the port of Cape Town until Rotterdam. We stopped in Walvis Bay (Namibia) and Vigo (Spain).

This video goes slowly, just like the trip. Our speed was between 20 and 30 km/h.
