Re-thinking Lawrence of Arabia | Dr Rob Johnson
T.E. Lawrence ('of Arabia') was arguably one of the most colourful characters to come out of the First World War. His legacy, and that of the immediate post-war policy in the Middle East is still felt to this day. In this wide-ranging lecture, Dr Rob Johnson takes a look at Lawrence and the various characters that come into the story, such as the American film maker Lowell Thomas, King Hussein of the Hejaz and Emir Faisal plus many others.
