Compline by Candlelight on Wednesday, March 26, honors Harriet Monsell, founder of an order of nuns. Members of the Cathedral Choir will sing plainchant, as well as music of Tomas Luis de Victoria and William Mundy.
On the fourth week of each month, singers from the Cathedral Choir lead a service of Compline in the Quire. An ancient service of prayer meant to bring the day to completion, Compline is held within the choir (or “quire”), the area of the church that seats the choir and clergy.
