How I REALISTICALLY got into 15 top colleges (Yale, Brown, Duke, UChicago, etc): Stats + ECs
Forgot to mention my GPA was 5.1833 weighted/ 4.0 unweighted (took 10 APs, 7 courses at a community college)
This past college season was a whirlwind of anxiety, stress, and eventual surprise and accomplishment. Despite having limited resources and opportunities, I was able to get into 15 out of the 18 schools I applied to.
When I was researching how to get into these top 20 schools, I was often discouraged by the multitude of awards and accolades other accepted students seemed to have. I learned later on that a far greater majority of accepted students were ordinary high school students like I was, but are not represented in the YouTube community.
If you have a goal to get into a selective college, go for it. What kept me going was the mantra: “Every Shot You Don’t Take, You Miss”
Disclaimer: Every person’s story is different, I’m just giving my POV of how my process went.
Accepted:
1. UT- Austin
2. University of Houston

10. USC

12. Dartmouth
