Bad UX Design: This Tesla UI Made Me Freeze

In this video I break down a confusing UI moment I experienced while taking a phone call through Tesla. When another call came in, the interface showed several options, but it wasn’t immediately clear how to decline the incoming call without ending the current conversation.

It’s a small example, but it highlights an important UX lesson: when users are already engaged in a task, the interface should minimize thinking and support their mental model.
In this video we look at three UX principles that explain why this interaction feels confusing:

• Cognitive Load
• Recognition vs Recall
• Interrupt Cost

Part of the Bad UX Design series where I analyze real product interfaces and highlight small design decisions that impact the user experience.
