Nanako In Classic Japanese Monster Castle (2007) - ZX Spectrum

Mya, a witch's apprentice and Nanako's younger sister, decided on her own to break all the palace rules and, disobeying her mentor's orders, set off alone for the Heun Tower, seeking to expand her knowledge of the occult arts. The old tower, surrounded by a magical aura whose origin was unknown, was populated by a legion of karakasas among a multitude of other tzukogami (inanimate objects that gain consciousness upon reaching 100 years of age). They were generally not hostile or malevolent beings, but Mya's method of entering the tower enraged them, making them extremely dangerous. Poor Mya took refuge at the very top of the tower, unable to dare descend the 25 floors to return home, barely surviving for weeks on end.
Nanako, worried about her sister's disappearance, investigated and soon discovered a faint clue that led her to the old tower. Her mental connection with Mya did the rest. With a determined step, Nanako set out to enter Heun Tower to rescue her sister. She only needed to find her so that, using their combined power, they could establish a direct connection with the village and teleport to safety... The problem was dodging all those karakasa to reach Mya! In this game, you once again play as Nanako. The game consists of 25 levels, each representing a floor of Heun Tower. To reach the next level, you must literally "build" a path to exit at the top of the screen. This is achieved thanks to Nanako's ability to carry wooden crates and place them elsewhere, one at a time. In each level, there will be a Karakasa who will sometimes make your life difficult. With care, Nanako can walk on the Karakasa, although if the Karakasa were to move and cause her to fall, there's a good chance we'd lose one of our five precious lives. Being able to use the Karakasa as a platform to jump to higher levels is key in some levels.
