About Radio 54 Fixing my Telequipment scope S51B

If you seen the last two videos in this series you'll know that the scope that I use with my wobbulator failed part way through a alignment checking process and I said I'd make a video covering the repair of the oscilloscope. I haven't fixed on of these before but reasonably I figure that as I had the circuit diagram these no real reason why I shouldn't be able to at least find what's wrong. I actually had nearly an hour's worth of video but I've edited that down to 15 minute and I hope you find it interesting and hopefully helpful. This sort of equipment is particularly dangerous as there are some lethal voltages been feed onto capacitors that mean they can pack a punch and people have been killed fixing high voltage equipment. Don't take any chances as you're going to be a long time dead anyway so don't be in a rush to get there. I didn't say in the video but the high voltage diode feeds the screen of the CRT. I wanted to talk about all the good things like how when you replace metal rectifiers with silicon you can wind up with more voltage because of the silicon's lower forward resistance and the notion of using resistors/capacitors across each individual diode in a string to ensure voltage sharing but I had to edit out due to overrunning. I thought it was better to show the discharge time issue as that could save your life.
Now I've fixed the scope I guess I've got to keep my word and revisit the Eddystone as in parts 52 and 53. I've got a house to rewire, fit a new kitchen and totally decorate throughout so it could be a wile before I get around to it but it's on the list.
