can a camera from 1987 still work?

In todays video, I decided to try and film a vlog with a VHS tape recorder from the 80s (I think maybe around 1986 for this model? not sure if someone knows comment!) This particular one was used by my grandpa to film home videos of my mom, aunt and uncles! Well isn't that neat!
