Boiler Repair - Fixing Stuck Circulator Pump

Hi everyone, its Jim. In this DIY video I fix a stuck circulator pump on an oil boiler running a hydronic baseboard heating system. The boiler heats the water but the Taco circulator motor doesn't pump water to radiators. The motor was getting very hot so I knew it was getting power but was seized up. Electric motors are pretty tough, and the impeller can get jammed with sediment especially if you have hard water or well water. Check it before replacing it.

ALWAYS TURN OFF power to boiler before working.
DRAIN the radiator lines enough so that the pump is empty.
