Senior White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow said Friday morning on Fox business news that it would be "almost impossible" to execute a stimulus relief package before the November election, even if Congress overcame a months long impasse and struck a deal. He explained how with only 18 days until the presidential election, there's technically enough time for people to receive another stimulus check, but it's unlikely to happen. But the good news here is that based on a timeline provided by Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin in August, there's still enough time for people to receive a payment before the election if Congress can get a bill passed quickly. Talking to reporters a couple, he said if a deal is passed on a Monday and stimulus checks are included, he could start "printing them the following week" and issue 50 million payments "really quickly." Kudlow did go on to say however how "Maybe some of the second stimulus bill could be executed, but he ultimately said that you couldn't get a grand, large deal passed before the election”. As a result, Kudlow urged lawmakers to reallocate $300 billion in unused CARES Act funds and use it to extend boosted unemployment benefits, reopen the Paycheck Protection Program and provide airlines with another $25 billion bailout. Kudlow's comments came one day after President Trump told FOX Business he was considering upping his offer for a coronavirus relief package above the White House's current $1.8 trillion proposal. President trump has come out multiple times in the last couple of days and told congress to go higher. Go big or go home”. Trump explained how “Nancy Pelosi doesn’t want to give anything because she thinks it helps her with the election.”

Similar to Larry Kudlow’s call to reallocate the $300B in used funds from the CARES Act, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is set to have a vote in the Senate on Monday on a $500B second stimulus bill. This bill includes stimulus checks but it doesn’t specify to who and it also includes unemployment benefits and if you’d like more on this check out the video I made yesterday where I go over a full break down. Mcconnell came out and said that “what he’s going to put in the floor is what Senate Republicans, 52 out 53 of us, feel like is an appropriate response.” However it is important to note that Larry Kudlow said that if Pelosi, Mnuchin and the White House could reach an agreement, the administration would be able to get "enough Senate Republicans" on board. Kudlow explains how “the president wants a deal.”

Even though Nancy Pelosi and Steven Mnuchin continue to talk every day, and yesterday achieved a breakthrough on a “national testing strategy”, Democrats have been insisting that there isn’t much optimism they’ll reach a deal over stimulus legislation before Election Day. Politico thinks they are simply out of time. And Pelosi says there are still big differences on essentials. In a letter to her colleagues Pelosi wrote yesterday that “,any other disagreements remain.” She says how these disagreements “ include but are not limited to funding for state and local government, tax benefits for working families, support for vulnerable small businesses, and child care funding.”
