Slender Man Stabbing Trial Rewind: Anissa Weier Trial Day 3 Dr. Caldwell

May 31, 2014 Waukesha, WI- A cyclist calls 9-1-1 to report a girl who's been stabbed. When first responders arrive they find 12-year-old Payton Leutner with 19 stab wounds. One of the wounds was just 1 millimeter from an artery near her heart. Police arrested 12-year-olds Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier. The motive was a fictional character referred to as Slender Man. Geyser and Weier had reportedly become obsessed with the character. The girls claimed that they had to kill Payton to prevent Slender Man from killing their families. Morgan and Anissa were both charged as adults with Attempted First-Degree Murder. In this series we will go back and review the investigation and trial.
