JScript .NET (Programming Language)
🚫 JScript .NET was a Microsoft-developed .NET language that served as a successor to JScript and an extension of the ECMAScript standard.
🗓️ It was released in 2000 as part of the .NET Framework 1.0, a product of Microsoft's broader strategy to unite its various programming technologies under a common runtime. While a specific individual founder isn't named, it was driven by the .NET development team.
💡 Unlike classic JScript (which was interpreted), JScript .NET was a compiled language that ran on the Common Language Runtime (CLR). It provided full access to the .NET Framework's extensive class libraries and allowed interoperability with other .NET languages like C# and VB.NET.
🚀 It aimed to provide a familiar syntax for JavaScript developers moving to .NET for building web applications (ASP.NET) and desktop applications. However, due to low adoption and Microsoft's strong focus on C#, JScript .NET was eventually deprecated in 2007, with no further development.
