Dutch Resistance: Orange Shall Overcome!

Last night around the table with our good friend Jan.
Dutch Resistance: Orange Shall Overcome! didn’t feel like just playing a game. From the first turns we were deep into the reality of the Dutch resistance in WWII. Curfews, raids, informants, underground press, sabotage. Everything felt close and dangerous.

We talked a lot, hesitated, changed plans. The HALT cards kept breaking our flow and pushed the story in unexpected directions, which made the whole evening feel very narrative. Each scenario plays differently and demands a new mindset.

The illustrations are beautiful and knowing that every character is based on a real historical person made the experience even more intense.
One of those evenings where you clearly feel how strong game design can turn a historical theme into something alive.
