Deadliest Sunday in Texas | Interview w/ Stephen Willeford

John interviews Stephen Willeford to do an AAR (After Action Review) of the Sutherland Springs Shooting. Mr. Willeford was the first person to respond to the deadly event and has a lot to say about engaging in an active shooter situation.

Stephen confronted the shooter and exchanged fire. He was armed with an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle and had taken cover behind a truck across the street from the church. The gunman wore tactical gear and level III body armor, but had dropped his rifle upon the initial fire with Mr. Willeford and used a pistol before attempting a getaway.

Mr. Willeford pursued the villain several miles before the shooter committed suicide. Stephen says he knew police were on the way, but felt his community couldn't wait. His solution to these types of situations are an armed and trained public. And the Warrior Poet Society couldn't agree more. Thank you for your heroic acts, Mr. Willeford. May it inspire and strengthen the resolve of a nation of like-minded people to take heart for their community and peers and be defenders of good.
