I think this is so far the most serious competition at Tesla Model S or at Tesla in general.

The longest range Tesla is the Model S Long Range Plus, which has 402 miles per single charge. The recently unveiled Lucid Air will has an announced 517 miles per single charge. And now, we have the NIO ET7, which 1000 KMs of range between charges. This is 620 miles per single charge.

The NIO ET7 is the latest model from the Chinese electric car start-up NIO . With the electric sedan with a catchy design, the company wants to approach the mass market even more. In addition to the purely electric drive, it is equipped for autonomous driving. He knows how to discreetly accommodate the sensors and necessary technology in the exterior.

The start-up itself describes the design and appearance of the e-vehicle as minimalist progressive, reduced to the bare essentials. Frameless windows and gently closing doors with pull-out door handles underline this design approach. The Stromer, which is already known as the “ET Preview” concept vehicle, will come in series with a 1.9 m² glass roof, which also immediately catches the eye from the outside.

Adam signals a major achievement by NIO in bringing automotive intelligence and autonomous driving to market, safely and reliably. With a centralized, software-defined computing architecture, NIO’s next-generation EVs, like the ET7 sedan, will feature the latest AI-enabled capabilities, which are perpetually upgradable after the point of sale.
