Picking the Parts for a Small Robot | Embedded System Project Series #2
Programming an embedded system is basically about controlling a piece of hardware, and it's essential to understand that hardware to program it. So in this video, I start talking about the hardware (sumobot) I'm going to be programming in the coming videos. I show a hardware block diagram and discuss the parts and why I picked them, including the motors, sensors, battery, and microcontroller. I also explain why I didn't use an Arduino, and why I don't think you should if you want to learn embedded systems development.
