CNN commentator blasts 'coastal liberal' Gavin Newsom should not lead the Democrats

CNN commentator S.E. Cupp has slammed California Governor Gavin Newsom as the potential leader of the Democratic Party.

During a segment on 'CNN Table for Five', the panel discussed US President Donald Trump's claim that Newsom's dyslexia makes him an unqualified leader.

Newsom has opened up about his dyslexia, a learning disability that makes it difficult for a person to read, as he eyes the White House in the 2028 election.

Cupp, who appeared on the panel, criticised Newsom's qualifications to lead the Democratic Party.

"I don't like Gavin Newsom. I think the Democrats are wrong to wrap their arms around Gavin Newsom. I don't think another California coastal liberal is the saviour of their party," Cupp said.
