Full Disclosure: I WAS NOT PAID to do this review, but Beyond Paint did send me a quart of paint for free to try it out and share with you what I think of it. In this video, I use this all-in-one paint to redo a small dresser that came from a thrift store, and I give you my honest opinion of Beyond Paint.

This little dresser/nightstand was full of scratches and little cracks. But overall it was still a sturdy piece of furniture, and I love all the intricate detail that makes it so unique. Normally, to paint something like this, I would start with a lot of sanding to smooth out as many of those imperfections as possible. (I'd never be able to get them all out, but I could definitely improve on them.) This time, however, I did not sand at all to put Beyond Paint to the test.

Beyond Paint is supposed to be great on every kind of surface; from wood and laminate to tile and even masonry. It says you don't need to sand or prime, and it's self-leveling, so it should fill in those little cracks and any roller marks or brush marks should disappear. The only thing I had to do was make sure the surface was clean before painting, so I wiped it all down with a slightly damp cloth.

The first thing I noticed, besides the beautiful color, was how thick this paint is. I've never seen anything this thick before! The paint stirrer even stood up in it! There was also a strong odor, so you definitely want to paint in a well-ventilated area. I painted this dresser with both a brush and a small roller. Because this dresser went from an off-white to a dark navy blue color, it took two and even 3 coats of paint in some areas to get the desired coverage.

Overall, I really liked Beyond Paint. It's very obviously a high-quality paint. It filled in a lot of those little cracks, although not all of them (but my dresser was a little far gone! Lol). It left behind a really smooth finish with no brush strokes, even though I painted a lot of it with a brush.

A couple of things to consider: Beyond Paint doesn't offer a whole lot of color choices, but I will say the colors they do have are really gorgeous and current. Also, it's more expensive than the paint I usually buy. But, on the other hand, time is money, and this paint did save me hours of sanding. I also have LOTS of paint left over to do another project, so there's definitely added value.

In the end, I am thrilled with the way my little dresser turned out. It was definitely in need of some TLC, and now it's contemporary and chic with a bold new color and shiny brass knobs.
