COLLEGE VS. HIGH SCHOOL: biggest differences + advice for freshman year of college

What are the main DIFFERENCES between COLLEGE & HIGH SCHOOL?! This college vs. high school video focuses on social, academic, personal, and professional aspects of the typical college experience or time at university! These are just my general tips and advice for any incoming college freshman who are nervous about navigating their first few days of college after moving into dorms. This video touches on different study habits in college, making friends, joining clubs and extracurriculars, being a good student, taking time for yourself, going to office hours, and maintaining a good reputation on your college campus throughout your 4 years at university. This is everything that I've learned in my freshman, sophomore, and junior years of college and is what i wish i knew before my freshman year at college!

SOCIALLY
1. Don't be afraid to be the new kid & introduce yourself to people in your hall in your dorm or in lectures/discussions
2. Branch off from your friends, be your own person and discover clubs that interest you
3. People don't care that much about you - looks/appearance wise

ACADEMICALLY
1. No one cares about your ACT or SAT score or your high school gpa - no one cares if you were valedictorian
2. Don't procrastinate for an exam - studying pays off
3. Figure out what courses and classes you're taking in advance - plan your different possibilities to major in and take the right prerequisites

PERSONALLY
1. FOMO is real (fear of missing out) be a "yes" person
2. Reputation matters on campus and will continue past college into your career
3. Self care is essential in college especially when living with roommates

PROFESSIONALLY
1. Summer is extremely important - be productive, learn a new skill or get a job or internship
2. Get close to professors and go to office hours
3. Write everything down so you can refer to it later for resumes + interviews to talk about experiences
