Greta Thunberg, activists set sail to Gaza after earlier aid vessel attacked at sea

Greta Thunberg and other activists set sail on the International NGO Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) ship from Italy on Sunday in an attempt to reach Gaza to deliver humanitarian aid, after a previous try failed due to a drone attack in the Mediterranean.

"No matter how dangerous this mission is, it is nowhere near as dangerous as the silence of the entire world in the face of the lives being genocided," Thunberg said.

The 'Madleen' ship carried what the group called "limited amounts, though symbolic", relief supplies, like medicine, baby formula, and food.

Irish actor Liam Cunningham, who starred in the television series Game of Thrones, and has been very vocal in his support for Palestinians in Gaza, was to join the mission with dozens of other volunteers on board the aid ship.
