Month after month, the market for compact SUVs and crossovers becomes increasingly crowded and in such a varied scenario the watchword stands out. Suzuki, pioneer and protagonist of the SUV segment since 1988 with the first Vitara, has since then remained the undisputed point of reference in the category and today reaffirms its ability to intercept the needs of the public and introduces a new trim level for the VITARA Hybrid in the price list and S-CROSS Hybrid.

These are the YORU versions, characterized by the combination of unique colors inspired by the colors of the night and exclusive details, with superior standard equipment, rigorously equipped as per the DNA of the brand with 4x4 AllGrip technology.

Blue like the night, silver like the Moon
The term YORU indicates in the Japanese language the moment in which the night becomes darker and the moon and stars are more visible to the naked eye.

All this inspired the livery we find on the VITARA Hybrid YORU, based on the combination of the blue of the night for the lower portion of the sheet metal and the silver of the Moon for the upper one.

The S-CROSS Hybrid YORU instead intersperses the night sky, represented by the Capri Blue metallic paint, with contrasting elements, such as the mirror caps and the front and rear skid plates are silver.

The set-up includes, for both cars, an electric panoramic sunroof including a blackout curtain. This gives the roof a complete panoramic glass paneling, which can be completely opened, which makes it a privileged and ideal window for observing the stars.

The YORU setup is completed by the adoption for both cars of the 4WD AllGrip Select traction which, thanks to its technology and the driving selector, allows you to escape from the city and immerse yourself safely in nature at any moment.

VITARA Hybrid YORU: details
VITARA Hybrid YORU is characterized externally by Black finishes on the bumper, on the upper strip, and on the vertical elements of the grille, as well as on the frames of the DRL daytime lights and the side friezes of the bonnet. The customization of the bodywork is completed with the YORU badge on the B pillars, where we find the elegant Kanji overlapping with the Yoru writing on a light background.

Inside the passenger compartment, we find the circular clock in a central position on the dashboard, with Kanji writing. The finishes of the seats and gear gaiter are made of high-quality materials, the latter in the manual version and combined with the 4x4 AllGrip Select traction. Finally, as on all top-of-the-range trim levels, we find the electronically opening panoramic roof.

1.4 Boosterjet Hybrid 48-volt engine
What VITARA Hybrid YORU and S-CROSS Hybrid YORU have in common is the 1.4 Boosterjet engine combined with the 48-volt Hybrid module that powers a 10kW electric motor. This unit, as brilliant as it is efficient, develops a maximum power of 95 kW (129 HP) at 5,500 rpm and records a peak torque of 235 Nm constant between 2,000 and 3,000 rpm. An efficient and torque-rich unit, thanks to its low inertia turbine, the optimization of the direct injection system, the variable electric intake timing, and the high compression ratio.

Transmissions offered are the six-speed manual gearbox and the all-wheel drive 4WD AllGrip Select, which provides four driving modes that the rider can select depending on the terrain to be faced: Auto, Sport, Snow, and Lock. The four modes, easily selectable from the control on the central tunnel, make it very simple to select the setting of the 4x4 system best suited to the driving conditions. The system is electronically controlled and adapts the amount of torque to be distributed to the rear wheels and communicates with the ESP system, engine management, and other onboard systems to guarantee the most appropriate response for each mode.

The Special Edition VITARA Hybrid YORU and S-CROSS Hybrid YORU enter the list at €31,990 and €33,990 respectively.
