What a beautiful start to the day with Rice, curd and gur. Best part of this breakfast was that it was cooked using traditional method.

Tezpur has ancient, Medieval and modern history.

Ancient history: it is believed that many many thousand years ago, Banasur fought war with Lord Krishna. In this war Lord Shiva supported Lord Krishna. We visited Agni garh and Temple remain Bamuni hills.

There are many temples of Lord Shiva in Tezpur, as Banasur was a disciple of Lord Shiva, he built these temples over the time period when he was ruling in this region.

Medieval history: We learnt about Ahom dynasty t during our visit to Sivasagar.

Modern History: During this era, there is lot of work that happened around cultural aspects of assam some of the notable writers, poets, musicians. Jyoti Prasad Agarwal was born in Tezpur. He was the first Assamese film maker.

Tezpur is home for Bishnu Rabha who was another multi talented personality. He was a Poet, Lyricist , Dramatist and a freedom fighter. Bishnu Rabha's song also has a special identity which is popular as ''Bishnu Rabha Sangeet''.

Noted personalities like Phoni Sarma & Padmanath Gohain Baruah was also from this place. Padmanath Gohain Baruah was the 1st president of Asom Sahitya Sabha.

Ugroshore: It takes about 40 minutes to travel between Ganesh ghat Tezpur to ugroshore island.

3. Chitralekha udyan: this is a popular garden in Tezpur. Art work at this garden demonstrates the mythological story of Usha and Anirudh marriage and the Mahayudh that happened between the two God’s Hari & har.
