Tom Prasada-Rao

“Tom Prasada-Rao has been a gentle giant on the folk scene since the early 1990’s” Jake Blount, NPR.

He's played the Kennedy Center, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and has won Kerrville’s New Folk Songwriting Competition in 1993, Falcon Ridge’s Most Wanted list in 1997, and garnered 12 Washington Area Music Awards (Wammies) over the years, including Songwriter of the Year.

In May of 2020 TPR wrote “$20 Bill (for George Floyd)” which has since been covered over 200 times, was awarded NERFA’s “Song of the Year”, and just made Folk Alley’s list of “100 Essential Folk Songs of all Time".
